I've successfully reduced my weight by 10kg since the start of TEP by a combination of dieting and weight training (doing weights). Im quite prepared for IPPT already.
My ippt at JC level was quite dissapointing. my old record when i was 17 was:

2.4km run - was on mc that day, so no official recording
pull-ups - 2
sit and reach - 62cm
standing broad jump - 2.65m
shuttle run - 9.4s
Sit ups - 58

My target this time round is:
2.4KM run - under 11 minutes
pull-ups - at least 6
sit and reach - 65 cm
standing broad jump - 2.6m
shuttle run - under 9.5 seconds
Sit ups - around 60

just gotta train more of my arm strength.

Lots of things happened this week.
But really gotta thank God for a fantastic week before school re-opens.

I was free on tuesday after 3 weeks of work. I met chun hong and chuu jye after their cashiering work at the ps carrefour. We had grilled chicken rice for dinner and i treated them to some ice cream at gelare, i had a waffle myself (waffles are on half price on tuesdays!). yummy, despite its fattening-ness. chuu jye was especially grumpy that day. he said his error in cashiering cost his tranier $6.50. Lol, and he wondered if all his pay would be used to top-up the deficits when he actually starts working. I can see that they are dying, both physically and mentally, after working. They must have gone through a day of tough work at carrefour. It reminds me of God's faithfulness towards me when he blessed me with a job that pays well despite doing nth physically demanding. My work life is kinda easy, all i gotta do is some cashiering, some housekeeping and knowing the things in my shop well. When I had done all the housekeeping and no customer is around, i would read books and listen to gospel music. Working at ulu places like the one at funan permits me to read for 3 hr! I couldnt have asked for a better job. Thats why i always tell my friends and churchies that my work is a testimony of God's grace and providence to me, both financially and spiritually. anyway, back to where i strayed off-topic... after the dinner and dessert combo, we went to parklane to play some LAN! haha, its all their fault that I have to be back in a Lan shop again. in the midst of playing SWAT 4, i receieved a call from Ju ting saying that he wants to watch the Man u milan match over at my house, and i gladly agreed.

I enjoyed playing and crapping with both Chun Hong and Chuu Jye. but seriously, SWAT 4 sucks! haha. We were too engaged in our 4-hero seige that we almost missed the last bus and train. in the end, they managed to catch their trains and i manage to catch my 190.

Ju ting could have drove me home if his dad wasnt using the car that day, suay-ed! Sometimes i wonder what it wld be like if my dad owns a car and i have the licenese to drive... hah... i'll be driving to school and work every day lahz! at 12mn, Ju ting cab-ed down to Bukit panjang plaza and i walked him back to my place. We found a bench under my block and decided to just sit there and chill out and chat before going home. I would say we did more than just 'chatting', we were sharing more personal stuff. Im very comfortable talking with Ju ting about the struggles and the pleasures in my life. and I had a great time listenning to his too. God says there are friends who stick closer than our brothers and i kinda understand what it means =)

Though he supported Milan, my bro and I supports Man utd. So there were some embarassing moments when Milan eventaully scored 2 goals through Kaka. At half time, He was celebrating and my bro and I were very sian -.- But who knows? Man U managed to turn the tide and scored 2 more thru rooney to secure a 3-2 win. So at full time, my bro and i were celebrating and he was very sianz... hahaha.

Anw, i saw Ping shen and his gf while working today. How come i always meet Ping shen and his GF 1 ar? haha its such a small world! When i reach home just now, i got a message from Matt asking me and Wei ting if we are free for lunch this sat. Im just glad that in the midst of busy-ness, they still found time to connect with me=) i just realised a mini-miracle in my life right now and I know God is the one behind it! The meet-ups with different cliques of friends fitted perfectly with my work schedule! that means i have no clashes between gatherings and work! dun have to postpone any gatherings because of work!

Just came back from work. Had a fruitful time tending the shop and reading books. Today I finally had the time to read the book i wanted to read all along - Facing your giants by Max Lucado. 20 pages into the book makes me want to buy it already, its that great. The book talks about how we should face the Goliath in our lives like how King David faced his. It is interestingly written in a way that teaches us how to fight the giants of our lives from the story of Kind David. According to the book, the matter of fact is this - Focus on Giants and you stumble, Focus on God and your giants tumble. How true is that.. When King David fought Goliath, he cldnt care less about how strong, powerful and mascular Goliath was. He focused on God, he knew his strength comes from God alone and no matter how mascular and powerful the Goliath was, he believed God is stronger. No wonder God calls David the 'Man after God's own heart', the 1st and the last man to be given that title by God himself. Paul was called 'apostle' by God, John was the 'beloved'. Not even Moses, Abraham and Joshua was described as a man after God's own heart. That is how highly God regarded David. For ur info: David was short and skinny, probably not taller than 170cm and weighing less than 60kg. But Goliath was described as a giant of man, standing at 9 feet (270cm) and his full body armour and sheilds weighed a staggering 125 pounds( 60kg)! He is at least a head taller than Yao Ming and probably the world's strongest man. So whats Daivd's odds u wonder... David was quietly confident even with odds stacked firmly against him. He had such strong faith.

As you know, David owned the Goliath. Thats what i intend to do to the goliath in my life too. Any thing that attepmts to discoonect me from God can be considered a potential Goliath. it gotta go...

JC

Its holiday now and im thinking about alot of things. i miss the jc people (except chuu jye lah, who is still with me at NYP) We gotta meet up one day when all of you NS people are free..

Can still vividly remember life in CJ. Still remember the 1st day i saw Tan Wei Ting. I tot: is this guy a drug addict or what? how come he got such a weak and sad face? Lol.. not the best first impression. for the first week or so, the class was quiet except for people like vic, ben and me. we knew each other from the days of MI. I believe God brought us together. Ben was my sec 3 and 4 classmate and also my classmate in MI, and now we're in the same class in CJC again. Vic was my MI classmate and also my CJC classmate. so the 3 of us were making major noises in class for the 1st week or so. i can still remember who sat beside me in class. on my left, it was LAN LONG XIAN (aka LAN CHUU JYE). on the right was Victor. you must be wondering why Chuu jye was called Long xian.. actually, tats his birth name, but his parents changed it to chuu jye after consulting some fortune teller. so people from CJC still remembered him as Long xian. anw, the guys from the class 1t28 sat at the back row except for Wei ting. he sat with the girls -.-

Soccer brought the guys together. in fact, all the guys in 1t28 loved soccer (excpet guo ren and melvin). that is also how we got to know each other better. but honestly, ben, vic and me didnt quite like wei ting at first. we thought that he was abit cocky and wierd. but the matter of fact is this - his not! we only got to know the 'real' wei ting on the seond week, and almost instantly, we became very good buddys. i can still remember how the four of us (wei ting, Cj, ben and me) went for the air rifle trials. we got in, but none of us actually bothered to stay, everyone found it boring. We still joked of opening a POOL CLUB cca so i can be the president of the club! lol. and this POOL CLUB actually became our 'imaginery cca'. so whenever we went to play pool after classes, we would tell everyone that we were going for our cca training. Life in CJC was extremely happening. everyday was a great day for me. By mid-year, Wei ting had already became the class clown and vic, ben and 1 were his apprentices. I still rememeber one day the four of us (ben, vic, ting and me) ponned a lecture just to stay in class to talk and slack. we talked and joked about almost everything uder the sun. Than ting asked all of us: 'who do you think is the chio-est girl in our class?' lolz. vic said it was tiffany, ting said it was Eileen (his ex-gf eileen was from our class) ben said it was jean. but my answer drew streaks of laughter from them. i said Hairin bah! Hairin was this malay girl from our class for the 1st few days but she was transfered to another class due to the change in her subjects. hey, why cant a malay girl be chio??? i think they thought i was just joking or what. seriously loh, that wasnt a joke! I really thought so! So from that day onwards, Ting went around the class and school telling everyone i noe that i like this girl by the name of hairin -.- Wah piang eh! everyone started to make fun of me and hairin. soo paiseh lah... especially when i met her along the corridors. Hairin was just an eye candy bah, nth more than that.... idiots sia... u guys also had lots of eye candies right!!... but only i got sabotaged.. pek chek sia.

but... looking back at those embarrassing moments, it puts a smile back on my face =) though there were alot of funny things that happened in CJ, i dun really have the time and energy to lit them all out. All i have to say is that i really enjoyed my time in CJC and the friends there.. especially the closer ones like Vic, Ben, Ting, Chuu Jye,Siong Guan, Pam-gek, Aidan, Wei yu, Romulus, Desmond, Ben Khong, Matt, Wai ngar, Hairin, Janice, Tiffany, Alison, Er Yan, Whitney, Hgee ngee, Nigel, Shamus, Michelle, Melvin, Ronald and Brian. we had so much fun and laughters together that i'll never ever forget!

JB and JT

Went out with Ju ting and Wai ngar last friday. Reminds me of how we use to hang out during our MI times. =) ahhhh.... that feeling.... it warms my heart! but its a pity that out of our gang of 7, only 4 remained while the other 3 went for NS. But still it was great to see the both of u.. (but that ming shan is missing, where is she?)

Anw, we went to have our dinner at Crystal Jade at suntec. Yummy food! Thank God for all the good food on that day. I expected the food there to be very expensive, but it wasnt so. IMO, it was reasonable. each of us had to pay $21 each.
After dinner, ju ting suggested some YAMI YOGURT! Yesh, i dont mind a medium cup of natural-flavoured yogurt with strawberry and kiwi toppings. yami yogurt rox! holding a cup of yami yogurt in our hands, we shopped around suntec.. the more we walked, the more tired wai nagr got. and my sore throat worsened.

Still, I got a DC Super hero three quarters for half price! (for all wo dunnoe, DC SUPER HERO is having a big sale, and the shirts are 70 percent off!) at abt 10pm, we went to have some coffee at Starbucks. Strangely, I love the late night chats with Jt and WN. They are such great entertainers! apparently JT and me got high and we were crapping and laughing out loudz...

I realised that when i'm with different friends, im abit different. When im with Ju ting, im abit more relaxed. With Wei ting, im abit more crappy. With Victor im abit more serious. With MAtt im abit more attentive. With Daniel(my churchie) im abit more open. Doesnt mean that i have split personalities. It just proves that - 1. Certain friends bring out certain character in you. 2. Different friends have different needs. some need u to be there to crap with them, some just need a listenning ear. And i'll try my best to be a friend that they are comfortable with. I would certainly classify these 5 as my '5 ultra besties', and each of them are unqiue and exclusive.

E

Continued---- Coincidentally i met E...........

E is an old friend of mine. I knew her 6 years ago while volunteering at Ren Ci hospital. I remember at that time, i was already a regular volunteer in ren ci already. And one day a new batch of volunteers came. Among the pinnafore-wearing STC (st theresa convent) students, i saw E. 'Oh my, she's cute!' haha. Like any eager young boy who thought he just met his cinderella, i asked for her number, at the end of the orientation. She gave a gigglish laughter, and ran away to else where. It was pretty nervous.

I saw her the next week. Not many volunteers stayed and continued to render their services to the old folks, so i was amazed and somehow glad that she stayed. On that day, E and R(her bestie) came up to me and R said: U want her number ar? Its inside, and this is for you too! She handed me a card and a glass bottle full of candy. than the both of them ran away again, just like the previous time. for the rest of the day, it was quite embarassing - we were very shy and had some speechless moments that was soo embarassing. A few days later i gave her a msg. And a week later we were talking on the phone. I wasnt afraid to call her because she's always prompting me to do so by sending me msgs like- im so bored at night... i cant seem to sleep... I knew she wasnt busy so i would give her a call every other night.

Through the phone, we get to know each other better. E is a very funny girl, with a very hoarse voice, rather low. She's the sporty kind of girl with a tan complexion. She loves to swim and amazingly, she's from NPCC. Talking was her major hobby. she can go on abt her school life, her family and her freinds for like hours on the phone. i didnt find it irritating, in fact, i was glad she was open to share these things with me. Before we became a couple, she held my hand while we were crossing the road.. and that was the sign i was looking for in her- that she was ready and accepting. A few nights after that 'cross road' incident i called her and asked her if we are ready to be together. she said she will call the next day to tell me the answer. the next night, i got a call from her. i didnt see this coming- she told me the truth. that she's attached to this girl in her school all along. she told me not to be angry. she also said that she's abt to break up with her already. and when she is done with her, she said she will call me back again.

I felt betrayed. Betrayed by someone so dear to me. It was like the kiss of judas. i asked myself alot of question. why did she lead me on when she's already with someone else? why did she hold my hand that gave me the wrong impression that she was ready? i remembered quite clearly that i wasnt angry, i was sad. ultra dissapointed. though i was sad, life moved on. Took the End of Year exams and passed it well.

Abt 7 months later, i received a msg at late night. and It reads: "Hello, this is E, still remember me? dont ask me how i got ur new number. i have broken up with her already. im quite sure i like boys now. can we start anew?" Hahahaz... i thought it was real funny - im quite sure i like boys now ... she even bothered to add a funny remark inside! But what she didnt noe is that im already attached to JC already, so i told her the truth and our lives moved on.

Coincidentally meeting her has brought back memories from the past. Though I have no feelings for her already, i still wanted to say a big Thank you to her, for all the happy memories and even the sad ones. These experiences, good or bad, made me a better man. at least a more mature one =)

the Perfect Team

I have a dream...!

I had a couple of crazy dreams lately. In my dream, I saw Kaka in a Manchester united jersey. How good can that be? is Kaka the final piece of the great man utd jigsaw puzzle?

after 85 minutes or so. the socreboard reads : 7-1
Oh God, is that a dream? I knew it wasnt a dream. what we have achieved is beyond one's wildest imagination. a 7-1 demolition of Roma, of a team so proud of its Catenaccio (defensive) football. This match will always be regarded as one of the clasics of european football. 11/4/07, The day that English football handed out a lashing to their Italian counterparts. Tabloids are prasing Ronaldo, they call him the Maestro. In football, u have 2 sets of tactics a team will generally use. firstly, the normal tactic that the coach will instruct his team to play (usually the tactic differs when u meet different opponents) The 2nd tactic is : pass the ball to ur ace player. The second tactic is a contingency plan. if the normal tactic fail u, the team will feed their ace with all the ball. Using his creativity and explosiveness, the ace will try to unlock the opponent's defense. Ac Milan has an ace in the form of Ricardo Kaka. Chelsea's ace is Drogba. For Barca, its gotta be Ronaldinho. But the ace above all aces in football now is this boy called: Cristiano Ronaldo. 2nd in the goal-scoring chart, and 1st in the assist chart, Ronaldo has provided United with the end product so far. Almost singale-handedly, he has inspired and propelled United to greater heights. What a season to remember.

Coincidentally, i met E. shall continue to blog abt my life and E tmr, gotta watch Watford Vs united now... TATA blog.

God Bless everyone=)

KL

Good day! Its Good Friday!
Ah the KL trip. Due to my excitement abt Good Friday, i've forgotten to update abt the KL trip.

in simplified english, KL means Kuala Lumpur. lol... lame.. (just a stupid comment to get myself started). its abit difficult for me to start typing as i dun really know where to start. Nvm, i'll anyhow start anyway -.-

We(Dan, yw, cath, qy, meihui, alex, eunice and me) went to KL together. 7 Singaporean and a Malaysian. We went there by train. yesh, its KMT train (don't ask me what that stands 4, bcus i have no idea too). We boarded the train at JB at around 930. the ride is 7hrs long and i managed to listen through over 70 worship songs. wah, still so amazed as i recalled it. as we alight at KL, i changed 100 SGD to 226 RM. All i can say is that my 1st impression of KL is not very good. It was raining like mad and the drainage system is poor, so i got my shoes all wet. however, the experience was different from what u get in Singapore. KL has its own monorail, mini train and lots of other transports and i got the chance to hop onto some of them. and its a great joy for me to experience something new!

So we checked in to the hotel room. Wow, its incredibly huge, theres a master bed room and a guest room. One king sized bed and 2 Queen sized beds. the guys took the guest room. my first impression was - wah! so big! so comfy! when ur expectation < actual performance, ur satisfied =) lol. The first night was spent in the Chinatown of KL and we had BAKUTEH for dinner. ultra fattening, but hack, thats what vacations are abt - eating without caring for the consequences! After dinner was a series of shopping sprees as we went around Chinatown's flea market. lots of fake and replicas, and pple are trying to cheat every dollar u have until u negotiates with them. didnt buy anything, afriad to be conned. lol, funny things happened. I had 2 vendors calling me Superman bcus of the T-shirt i was wearing, and Yw tried to confirm if i was the real deal by trying to check out the colour of my underwear (his idea is - superman wear red undies)! haha, his actions had me, himself and the vendor laughing out loud. after all the shopping, we went to our hotel. the rest went back to bath while yw, qy, daniel and me went to check out for interesting things we can do at Times square (the shopping center and the hotel we were staying in). We found out that we can actually: enjoy the indoor theme park, watch a movie, play bowling and sing a song a K-lounge. the four of us decided to suggest watching the movie Stomp the Yard to the rest who went back. After all 8 of us finished bathing, we caught the 1140 show. the show was fantastic. i would recommend it to everyone. After the movie, its Good night to everyone.

The second day was a fruitful one. not only did we went to Sungei Wang (also known as the far east of KL), we also managed to climb the tallest twin-towers in the world, the Petronas. i bought a couple of t-shirts from Sungnei wang and a nike khaki short at Times Square. cabbed down to petronas at 6pm to catch the tour. we reached at 615 due to some major traffic jam, but just in time to catch the last tour. Firstly, we were each issued a pair of 'sunglasses' to watch the 3D show abt the Petronas towers. the show is kinda boring, it nearly put me to sleep. after the show, its the main event. the tour guide took us up to the 41st floor via a fast speed lift. for ur info, it travels at 5m/s. The place that we were brought to is actually a bridge that links the two towers. its uber cold and u can see the rain pelting down to the ground beneath. its a great view from above, something u dun see everyday. the whole petronas tour took 20 minutes. to me, thats soooo short! u dun get to enjoy the scenery enuff -.- anywayz, we thought of going to the fairy's wheel until the traffic jam and the heavy rain demolished that idea. so after the petronas, we cabbed back to our hotel to have dinner. Had some Hong Kong food before we go on a shopping spree again. didnt buy antyhing though, except for some cheese cakes on our way back to the hotel. we bathed and when the as the rest retired, eunice, dan and me were talking abt lots of things.. yeah, more personal stuffs. abt our opinions on certain things... yup.. its great to talk abt deeper things, rather than the material world and superficial things. we were created for that. For personnal and deeper relationships. we slept at 430am, at the sofa in the living room.

The next day, i woke up at 10am to find that everyone except dan and me had went to swim.. as we waited for the rest to return, dan and me packed our stuff. we are supposed to check out at 12 noon.

when 12 came, we were all ready to check out. we left our bags with the hotel as we go for the.... INDOOR THEME PARK!! haha... perhaps the highlight of my KL trip. The roller coaster seems to be anything but safe...-.- i can imagine fallng off that and everyone attending my funeral back in Singapore. LOLz. the theme park is called Kosmos World(if im not wrong). for 25Rm we get to enjoy unlimited rides! first we went to the modified pirate ship ( dunnoe how to call it, lolz), ur bascially 'belted' to a seat and the machine will give u 10 full swings. and when u are at the top of the swing, its as if u are abt to fall off ur seat. thats the thrilling part. the ride was fun, the first 2 rounds were exceptionally thrilling. the next ride was a....a.... spinning elevator?? LOLz, lame u may think, but tats what exactly our next ride is abt. the previous ride was a 360 spin vertiaclly, but this one is a 360 degree spin on the side. the machine elevates u to abt 3 storey high and starts to spin u from the side(horizontally). And to me, this is the most thrilling one, bcus im afraid of HEIGHTS... LOLz. our 3rd ride is a modified mary-go-around. but this one is travelling at lightning speed. its as thougn someone is holding onto u and swinging u at 100km/h. this ride is certinly not for the faint-hearted, its vomit-inducing! and for my case, its bone crushing too, bcus my partner for the ride is Eunice, and she was literally crushing me throughout the ride! HAHAz. next we went on to the - ROLLER COASTER. yesh, what i was looking forward to. we waited abt 10 minutes before everything was ready. and the ride only lasted for abt a couple of minutes. all i can say the ride was OK, not as thrilling as i thought i wld be. that brings us back to the theory of Expectation vs actual performance. after the roller coaster ride, we played the bumper cars and some kiddy rides before we zao. all in all, it was an amazing experience. the 8 of us collected our stuff and cabbed back to putrajaya to get our lunch - the ANW(someting u dun have in Sg already). this time round, we took bus home. and i must say this: taking bus is a more economic, comfortable and a faster way as compared to train rides! bus is recommended.. as the most rational way to get to KL from Sg. reached Sg at 930, cabbed home with Dan and cath. super tired.

what i felt abt the KL trip? It was fun.. real fun. enjoyed myself. a big thank you to everyone who was there( dan, cath, eunice,yw,qy,mh,alex) and to everyone who made this trip possible - esp Dad and Mom for believing tat ur son is big enuff to take care of himself already.. lolz.

Thank you Lord! words cannot describe how much i appreciate ur love.. ur saving grace and providance, it sustains me. I will worship u forevermore!

Its Good Friday, and its Good night to everyone!

Paul's Weekly Balls: episode1

Welcome to Paul's Weekly Balls, giving u the latest update of sporting action from ball games around the world! WOOOHOOO~~ starting with..... ZY's Favourite, TENNIS: Federer lost? are u kidding me?? beaten by Canas, ending his 41 winning streak. amazing. thats all for tennis.

Lets move on to my favourite, FUTBALL. A weekend of chills and spills, its fight or flight and do or die for the title contenders. will Manchester United crumble under pressure? or will Chelsea slip up against relegation contenders Watford? It all started off at Old Trafford. Man utd vs Blackburn. Derbyshire opens the scoring for Blackburn, against the run of play... what a dissapointment for the champion-elect. the first half ends in a 1-0 deficit against utd....... Out came the revitalised Utd side, second half started brightly for Man Utd, Ronaldo causing some major havoc from the left. and than it came. a great individual goal from PAUL scholes, side stepping 2 oncoming defenders. and when u see scholesy pull that trigger, there can only be one outcome, one place that ball will end up in, the back of the net! 1-1. the next thing u see is ronaldo tearing the left flank with his twinkle toes. 3 stepovers and left brett emerton on his backside, he cuts the ball back to rooney... but it evades rooney, only for Giggs to smash it onto the crossbar. argh!! nearly. the next highlight shows a familiar scene yet again. Ronaldo ripping the left wing again?!?! his having an absolute stormer! 4 stepovers and u have brett emerton on his butt yet again... cut it back aross the 6 yard box, evaded rooney, evaded giggsy, for Carrick to fire home with a cool finish to the right bottom corner. 2-1. What a comeback! than came the third, Park Ji Sung tapping in the rebound from a spilled Ronaldo free kick. the forth came from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, capping a fine Utd display with a typical ice-cool finish. Scintillating performance from a depleted Utd squad. the Good news: Utd is in red hot form. the Bad news: Vidic is out injured, prob for another 4 weeks. Off we go to Vicarage Road. Its Watford up against the defending champs, Chelsea Fc.

Like always, Chelsea played some boring football... and the 1st half ended in a familiar scoreline 0-0. the start of second half see no improvement from Chelsea. toothless, uninspired performance. its still goalless in the 90th min. Im already dreaming of an 8 point lead for Man Utd, tentalising! and the nightmare came. 2 mins into the injury time, salomon kalou headed in for chelsea. my hand was on my head when i saw the ball flew past the grasp of Ben Foster. Tyco-ness to its perfection. What a pity! to hold the defending champions for 90 mins just to lose it in the injury time? I can see the dissapointment in the eyes of Watford fans, and of cos, the United fans (like me and my bro). well its been a great footballing week, thanks for tuning in to Paul's Weekly Balls, good night!

;can you help me keep this secret?
